Introducing: The MAC Art Fund

The Milwaukee Athletic Club has long been known for its beautiful art collection–especially 19th and 20th-century treasures. But as both the space and club culture evolves, the time has come for some fresh artwork to grace the walls in the grand staircase and member areas. The MAC is looking to add several new pieces of art, especially from local artists, to its prized collection to represent both the club, the city and its members.

The MAC Art Fund has been created so that the club can purchase new artwork in 2024. This special fund, not part of the operating budget, will raise money from members through a variety of different ways. In fact, there will be two opportunities in November to contribute to the newly created MAC Art Fund.

Saturday, November 11 at the Sip & Savor Soiree
This gourmet culinary event in the Grand Ballroom will have delectable eats, global wines, live music and a silent auction that will raise funds through voluntary contributions to the Art Fund.  Bid on items like a golf clinic, knife skills class, massage package and more.

Thursday, November 16 at the Holiday Boutique 
Get a jumpstart on holiday shopping as you mix and mingle with your friends over a sumptuous buffet dinner. I’ll be onsite selling both of my books “100 Things to Do in Milwaukee Before You Die” and “Milwaukee Scavenger.” Because I deeply believe in art's ability to affect people’s well-being, I will be donating a portion of my sales from the evening to the Art Fund.

In an effort to tell the entire story of the 140-year-old MAC, the MAC Art Fund is dedicated to preserving timeless art and commissioning new masterpieces.
